Throughout my leadership certificate program, I was able to attend 10 hours of workshops. This workshops included:
Psychological safety
Systems thinking
Inclusive conversations
Virtual Teams
Self-management
CliftonStrength
Conflict Management

All of these workshops enabled me to reflect back on all my previous experiences, and have a better course of action next time I come across a similar situation. Furthermore, all the workshops grew the four competencies (self-knowledge, relationship management, social justice, and innovation) that I sought out to develop. Out of all these workshops, the one I found most meaningful was conflict management.
During this workshop, I learned what my conflict resolution style is and how each conflict resolution becomes necessary in specific situations. I understand that conflict typically arises because of a common purpose. This shared reality gives us a platform to talk about a situation. The way I can change how I understand conflict is through being self-aware and making sure I understand both viewpoints during the conflict rather than arguing or becoming upset. From conflict, I can learn something no matter what the outcome is. By taking a step back from the conflict, reflect on the situation, manner.
